Do I have to attend meetings if I join the PTO?

You do not have to attend any meetings if you do not wish, however attending meetings is a great way to meet other parents and to keep on top of upcoming school events and volunteer opportunities. 

 

Where does my PTO membership donation go?

All of the money donated to the PTO goes directly to the school and your child. The PTO gives teachers money each year to help set up their classrooms, we also do teacher appreciation breakfasts and gifts throughout the year. The PTO also pays for any assemblies for the school and any additional events. Without donations, we would not be able to have events like the Fall Festival, the Family Picnic Day, Movie Nights, and so much more. 

 

I can not donate money but would like to know what other ways I can be of help.

We need volunteers always! Money is great but volunteer time is just as valuable and needed. We have events like the Holiday Store in December, Book Fair in the Spring, and Tie Dye day where volunteers are needed. 

 

I do not have time to volunteer but would like to donate money.

We would be happy to take your donation. Since our school attendance is still in the process of growing, we need more participation now than ever. 

 

I noticed that the PTO Membership Drive is over but I would still like to become a member of the PTO.

We like to kick off the school year with a two week PTO Membership Drive. However, you may join the PTO at any time throughout the school year. You can find blank forms in the front office and you can turn in your payment along with the form to any school staff during pick-up/drop-off. We would love to have you join us. 

 

What are some methods of payment you accept?

We accept cash, checks (made payable to: ICLM PTO) PayPal, and credit card. If you would like to make a donation with a credit card, please visit our website at: jcsmanzanitaelementarypto.com or you can email the PTO so we can set up a time to meet with you to process your payment.

How long do PTO meetings last?

Meetings are usually no longer than one hour. We try to keep them 30-45 minutes at most. It will all depend on the agenda for that particular meeting. 

 

Can I bring my small child to PTO meetings?

We welcome children as long as they can be kept entertained for the duration of the meeting. 

 

When are PTO meetings?

PTO meetings are held every LAST Wednesday of the month that is a school day. The following dates are the scheduled meeting dates for the year:  8/28, 9/25, 10/30, 11/20,12/18, 1/29, 2/26, 3/25, 4/22 and 5/13. PTO meetings are held at 9:15AM in the Opera House.
